LEARNING OFFERINGS

Community-Centred Development FOUNDATIONS


In Five & Two’s CCD learning pathway, participants have the opportunity to learn foundational principles of sustainable development through our CCD FOUNDATIONS course.  Participants will learn the foundational building blocks for sustainable development and consider the points of application at the community level. By comparing contemporary top-down approaches to local grassroots movements, participants will develop a theoretical framework to take action and share these learnings in their own context. 

CCD FOUNDATIONS will challenge participants to view vulnerable communities through a new lens, creating exciting possibilities for local development to happen from the inside-out.

Community-Centred Development FACILITATION


Through a strengths-based lens, our CCD FACILITATION  course invites participants to facilitate a CCD process in their own communities.  This course will equip participants with an understanding of how sustainable community development can begin with the God-given gifts of a community and be converted into opportunities for community-building action. Participants will learn to identify powerful assets that are often latent within a community. They will be equipped to utilize a variety of tools for asset discovery, connecting, mobilizing and action planning. As they understand the importance of social capital, participants will be able to identify and mobilize the people and processes necessary to achieve their community's vision.

COACHING

It is one thing to know and it is another thing to do. In CCD Coaching, practitioners will deepen their practice and begin walking their own community through a process of discovering, connecting and mobilizing. In this practicum we will further resource our key CCD practitioners so they are better equipped to go beyond CCD training and guide communities from start to finish. Global practitioners will be brought together for mutual learning and strengthening of our network as a whole.

CAMPS

We have found that Peace Transformation and Community-Centred Development go hand in hand. It is impossible to have one without the other.

In collaboration with BL4P (Building Leaders 4 Peace), we facilitate week-long Peace Camps where participants from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds are immersed in:
